Below are a few of the leading researchers, clinicians, innovators and educators with whom we've collaborated: 

Professor George Bakris specialises in the diagnosis/reduction of hypertension and the treatment of kidney disease (particularly diabetes-related kidney disease). In September 2019, Professor Bakris received the Irvine Page-Alva Bradley Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his work in the field of hypertension.

Professor Paul Emery’s research interests focus on the immunopathogenesis and immunotherapy of rheumatoid arthritis, SpA, psoriatic disease and connective tissue diseases. He has served on the editorial board of all major rheumatology journals, and in 2018 Professor Emery was awarded an OBE by the Queen for services to rheumatology.

Professor Keith Fox focuses his research on the mechanisms and manifestations of acute coronary arterial disease, and has published extensively in the area. He was a founding fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and was awarded the Silver Medal in 2010 for his contribution to cardiology.

Professor Gavin Giovannoni’s research focuses on multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory disorders of the central nervous system, particularly issues related to optimising MS disease-modifying therapies. His current research is focused on Epstein Barr virus as a possible cause of MS.

Professor Chris Griffiths’ research interests cover all aspects of psoriasis and skin ageing and he is credited with developing the concept that psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease, leading to the development of novel, life-changing biologic treatments for the disease. In January 2018, Professor Griffiths received an OBE from the Queen for his services to Dermatology.

Professor Stephen Hanauer’s main research interests focus on the epidemiology and clinical pharmacology of Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. He is the recipient of several awards including the Berk/Fise Award for Clinical Achievement from the ACG in 2018.

Professor Frances Shepherd’s primary area of research is in the field of clinical trials for lung cancer, and has designed and led more than 100 clinical trials over the past three decades.
